Polymer Clay

Love to work with clay but don't have a kiln?  The Polymer Clay may be the perfect solution for you.  With instructors Jan Moore and Cathy Clayton. you will learn to make a couple of simple canes (Mokume Gane, Zinnia, and Leaf), learn different application uses, and complete a simple project to take home.  The sky's the limit for what you can aspire to create and the "tools" you'll need are already in your home.  Class fee is $30. materials $6.

Wildlife Oil Painting Workshop

Instructor Kaye Lee Brady will conduct this 4 part, 10 hour+ workshop for all skill levels.  From her photo library, students will select at least one wildlife subject of their choosing to complete on a 16" x 20" stretch canvas.  Depending on skill level, students may complete more that one painting.  Workshop instruction fee is $70 / materials and supplies $15 for entire workshop.

Drawing Workshop for Intermediate and Advanced Students

Kaye Lee Brady will conduct this 4 part, 8 hour workshop geared to hone the skills of intermediate and advanced students in drawing, shapes, perspective, techniques, shading, and highlighting.  Workshop fee is $60.  Materials and supplies package for brand new students is $15 and includes portfolio size sketchbook. all drawing tools (pencils, gum eraser, ruler, protractor, etc.). Returning students should bring their supplies from previous workshops to about materials/supply charge.

Mixed Media Painting Workshop

Mixed Media Painting Workshop

This is a 2 part workshop with instructor Heike Winfield.  Working with different textures including lightweight spackling, puff paint, Mod Podge. acrylic paint and tissue paper, students will learn to create a textured surface on a 12 x 12 canvas the first evening.  On the 2nd evening, using a decoupage technique, or a template, students will paint an image of their choosing, creating depth and shades.  No previous painting skills required.  Workshop is $50 per student or $75 for adult and child 10 years or older.  All materials included.

Powder Coating

Carolyn Sleeper teaches you the process of powder coating.  Creating beads of various shapes from wire, you will then powder coat them for making earrings, bracelets, etc.  In the allotted time you may be able to complete a piece of jewelry.  Regardless, you will leave with the knowledge and the additional materials needed (including ear wire and bracelet fasteners) for completing more projects at your leisure.  Cost is $30. per student plus $10 for materials/supplies.

Creative Gathering

Come to the first monthly meet to converse with other creative minds and be inspired.  Bring your current projects or show off what you've mastered.  You'll find support from fellow artists or help for those who just need a little motivation to get started.  Swap ideas and unneeded materials.  Plan for the upcoming holiday seasons.  Snacks provided.  Everyone welcome!  Plan on meeting with us each and every month on the 1st Saturday, weather permitting and bring your lunch. We will talk about doing some potlucks and cookie swaps in the next month or two.
